New work-in-progress, Mrs Death Misses Death, showcased at The Roundhouse, Last Word Festival, June 2017. This work is in development, based on the private letters, prose and poetry of Mrs Death, a collaboration of words with music composed by Peter Coyte.
Brigitte Handley, singer/songwriter from The Dark Shadows (Sydney) is in Europe, launching her new album, ‘The Edge of Silence’ on CD through Halb-7 Records and distributed through Broken Silence Germany.
‘The Edge of Silence’, includes interpretations of Dark Shadows songs that began their lives on the acoustic guitar and keyboard and features a version of Kraftwerk’s, ‘The Model’, which was just debuted by David White on BBC Cornwall UK. The music is a blend of vocals, acoustic guitars, synths, keyboards and bass.
Brigitte has toured internationally both with her solo acoustic show as well as her band The Dark Shadows throughout Australia, USA, UK, Europe & Japan, supporting bands such as Glasvegas (UK), Fischer-Z (UK), The Jim Jones Review (UK), Frustration (FR), Hugh Cornwell (The Stranglers, UK), Skeletal Family (UK), Der Fluch (Germany), Marky Ramone (USA), Christian Death (USA), †13th Moon† (Japan), The Stray Cats (USA), Sham 69 (UK). Brigitte has also appeared at international festivals including, Art Basel, Switzerland, Wave Gotik Treffen (WGT), Leipzig, Germany, Semana Gotica Festival Madrid, Spain, Whitby Gothic Weekend UK, Psychomania Rumble Germany.
Brigitte was recently invited to appear as guest singer with Ken Stringfellow (The Posies/REM/Big Star) as part of the 'Small Beasts' sessions in Pumpenhaus Theatre, Münster, presented by Paul Wallfish (Swans/Little Annie). Brigitte accompanied Ken on vocals on a selection of songs from Stringfellow's latest album, 'Danzig in the Moonlight', including a duet version of 'Doesn't it remind you of Something' as well as a version of 'Distant Mind' from 'The Edge of Silence' album which she performed together with Ken.
